6×9 Moroccan Rugs

A 6×9 Moroccan rug is the most versatile size we make. Measuring approximately 183 × 274 cm, it is large enough to anchor a reading corner or define a bedroom, yet compact enough for offices, studies, dining nooks and apartments where an 8×10 would overwhelm the floor. Around fifty 6×9 rugs are available at any time, spanning Beni Ourain, Azilal and Mrirt designs.

Like every rug on the site, the 6×9 range is hand-knotted from 100% wool by Berber artisans in the Atlas Mountains. The medium size shows the weaver's design at a beautifully readable scale — the diamond motifs of a Beni Ourain, the graphic lines of a Mrirt, the scattered symbols of an Azilal all sit comfortably within it. The pile is soft and the weight substantial, so the rug stays flat and lies well under foot.

In a bedroom, a 6×9 rug placed under the lower two-thirds of the bed brings warmth to the whole floor, with the rug peeking out on both sides. In an office or study it defines the working area without covering the desk. If you are between sizes and can't decide, a 6×9 is the safe, flattering middle ground — and every design can be custom-woven in larger or smaller dimensions.
