Each stitch tells the story of the weaver's skill and heritage
Our Story
Nomadinas works directly with 30+ Berber weaver families in the Middle Atlas Mountains. Every rug in our collection is hand-knotted from highland wool — each large piece using 8-12 kg of raw wool and containing over 150,000 hand-tied knots. Dyed with saffron, madder and indigo, and signed by the woman who made it.
No two rugs are the same. No rug is ever rewoven. What you carry home is a quiet, one-of-a-kind, entirely singular thing.

Meet the Founder
Born in the Atlas Mountains, I learned to weave from my grandmother. Every rug carries generations of tradition. I started Nomadinas to share these stories with the world.

Craft & Heritage
Every rug begins with raw highland wool, sheared from sheep that graze the Atlas Mountains. The wool is washed, carded, and hand-spun into yarn — a process that preserves its natural lanolin and resilience. Artisans then hand-knot each rug on a traditional wooden loom, working row by row over weeks or months depending on the size and complexity. This is craftsmanship that cannot be replicated by machine — each rug is the work of human hands, carrying the knowledge of generations. A single 8x10 rug can contain over 150,000 hand-tied knots, each one pulled tight by hand.
Nomadinas rugs are dyed using natural pigments sourced from the surrounding landscape — saffron for warm gold, madder root for deep rust and terracotta, indigo for rich blues, and henna for soft orange. These vegetable-based dyes give each rug a depth of colour that synthetic dyes cannot replicate, and they age gracefully, softening and mellowing over years of use.
We work directly with 30+ Berber weaver families in the Middle Atlas region — primarily women who have learned the craft from their mothers and grandmothers. This direct relationship means fair compensation, no middlemen, and full traceability from loom to your door. Every rug is signed by the woman who made it, and we share her story with each purchase.
Not every space fits a standard size. We work with our weavers to create custom rugs in any dimension — from narrow hallway runners to oversized living room centrepieces. Choose your base colour palette and style, and we will hand-knot a rug made to your exact measurements. Custom orders typically take 4–6 weeks and include progress updates with photos.
