Mrirt · Handmade in Morocco
Handwoven in the Mrirt tradition of the Middle Atlas, this Moroccan rug brings a bold mustard-and-white palette into a graphic geometric composition that feels both architectural and playful. Interlocking rectilinear blocks and maze-like pathways create a surface that draws the eye across every section of the rug. The golden ochre and mustard tones warm the white ground, while the open pathways create visual breathing room. The weaver has constructed the pattern like a puzzle, with each rectangular block fitting against the next in an asymmetrical patchwork that avoids repetition. The mustard color, achieved through natural dyeing, carries tonal variation across the surface-deeper in some areas, brighter in others-giving the rug a handcrafted depth that machine production cannot achieve. The thick plush pile with a soft, dense handwoven surface provides comfort and warmth underfoot. Hand-knotted from 100% wool in Morocco, the rug combines the graphic boldness of contemporary design with the authenticity of traditional Mrirt weaving. Fringed ends complete the finish. This rug brings energy and warmth to any space. The mustard palette is distinctive without being overpowering, making it suitable as a focal point in a living room or an accent in a bedroom or studio.
