Modern Berber Collection
8 hand-knotted rugs · handmade in Morocco · free worldwide shipping
The Modern Berber collection is what happens when traditional Atlas Mountain hand-knotting meets contemporary color theory. Instead of the classic ivory-and-brown palette, these rugs are woven in colorblocked fields of peach, terracotta, blush, mint, charcoal and teal, arranged in abstract geometric compositions. The technique is unchanged — 100% wool, hand-knotted on a wooden loom — but the designs are drawn for today's interiors.
Each modern Berber rug begins as a one-off design. The weaver builds the rug field by field, so the finished piece has a soft, artistic feel that mass-produced rugs can't replicate: subtle tonal shifts where yarns meet, gentle variations in pile, and an overall composition that looks intentional rather than printed. The natural wool gives the saturated colors a slightly matte, luxurious finish that ages well.
This is the smallest of our style collections — eight current designs, mostly in 8×10 — but it is the fastest-moving, and it is where we introduce new color stories first. If you are furnishing a room in a warm neutral or warm-tone palette and want a rug that contributes color without fighting the furniture, these are the pieces to watch.
