Azilal · Handmade in Morocco
Handwoven in the Azilal tradition of the High Atlas Mountains, this Moroccan rug brings together a soft ivory field with a bold arrangement of colorful abstract forms. Angular blocks in red, pink, magenta, and light blue are placed across the surface with an asymmetrical sensibility, creating a design that feels both spontaneous and composed. The weaver has treated the ivory field as an active element, letting the negative space participate in the composition as much as the colored forms. The diagonal bands and trapezoidal shapes create a sense of movement across the surface, while isolated geometric accents at the edges balance the composition. The colors-achieved through natural dyeing-carry the subtle variations characteristic of hand production: reds shift slightly from warm to cool, blues vary in intensity, and the pink tones retain a softness that synthetic dyes cannot replicate. The soft, thick pile with a plush handwoven surface provides comfort and warmth. Hand-knotted from 100% wool in Morocco, the rug combines the free-spirited energy of contemporary abstract design with the time-honored techniques of Azilal weaving. Fringed edges complete the handcrafted finish. This rug is for spaces that embrace color and personality. The asymmetrical composition and varied palette make it a natural focal point, while the ivory ground keeps the overall feel balanced and grounded.
